We teach our students to make sure that when they are getting information online, they are being critical of the "stuff" that they are reading, watching, listening to, commenting on, etc.
Here is a great article on talking to your kids about coronavirus (cove-19). Click here for the link. Watch the video |

I want you to know that we are all in this together. I will continue to teach your awasisak and make sure I stay in contact with you weekly through phone calls or online. If you have any questions, concerns, suggestions, please feel free to email me at [email protected] Ay-Hay, Mrs. Olson |
I am available to answer any of your questions Mon-Fri from 8:30 am - 4 pm. You will receive a check in from me every Tuesday, be it in the form of a text message on Remind, email, or a phone call. When I do not reach you, I usually leave a message. I truly enjoy talking with you and answering any questions you may have. One of the concerns from parents that I've been getting to know is how to continue to motivate students to do their school work.
Here are some helpful advice: -Keep a visual, daily routine schedule which will help with the consistency. -During academic time, it's important to have a quiet spot for your child to do their work uninterrupted for 1 hour. -Support your child by being interested in what they are working on. Check in with them often. -Have your child meet with me on Fridays to keep them accountable, plus it will also encourage them to do their school work when they see and know that their classmates are doing the same thing. Please email me if you have any questions @ [email protected] We are all in this together! |

The FBI Safe Online Surfing (FBI-SOS) program is a nationwide initiative designed to educate children in 3rd–8th grade about the dangers they face on the Internet and to help prevent crimes against children. It promotes cyber citizenship among students by engaging them in a fun, age-appropriate, competitive online program where they learn how to safely and responsibly use the Internet. The program emphasizes the importance of cyber safety topics such as password security, smart surfing habits, and the safeguarding of personal information. |
